Revision checks of chimneys

Trouble-free and reliable operation of heating appliances directly affects the condition of chimneys. Decree 401/2007 Coll. there is also a regulation on chimney cleaning and revisions. The following regulations apply to industrial heating appliances for gas fuels (G20 and G31):

The chimney must be maintained in good technical condition and its regular inspection and cleaning must be ensured.
During operation, the chimney must be cleaned and checked at least in the following periods:
	- if appliances with a total heat output of up to 50 kW are connected to the chimney body, once every six months, if gaseous fuel appliances are connected to the chimney and if it is a chimney without an insert, once every twelve months, if appliances are connected to the chimney gaseous fuels and if it is a chimney with an insert,
	- if appliances with a total heat output of more than 50 kW are connected to the chimney body, once every six months, if gas fuel appliances are connected to the chimney.
The chimney to which the type C gas fuel appliance is connected must be checked and cleaned at least once a year during operation.
A chimney to which a solid fuel appliance, a liquid fuel appliance or a gas fuel appliance is connected and which has not been in operation since the other cleaning and inspection for longer than the period established by this decree, does not need to be inspected until it is put into operation again and clean; before putting the appliance into operation, it must be checked and cleaned.

The superior regulation of the decree is the technical documentation of the manufacturer of the appliance, and therefore the appliance must be cleaned within the periods specified by its manufacturer in the documentation for the appliance, if it indicates a shorter period. If this period is not specified in the documentation or such documentation is missing, it must be cleaned within the periods specified above.
